MEDIATION RATES AND POLICIES
RATE OF COMPENSATION: The Mediator shall be compensated by the parties at the applicable hourly rate of $400.00 per hour for mediations involving two (2) parties, at $450.00 per hour for mediations involving three (3) parties, and at $500 per hour for mediations involving four (4) or more parties, plus reasonable expenses (i.e., parking, mileage outside of Jacksonville area, long distance telephone charges, etc.).
- The Mediator does not charge the parties for travel time outside of Northeast Florida for mediations with a four (4) hour minimum charge otherwise, travel time outside of northeast Florida will be charged at one-half (1/2) the applicable hourly rate.
- Since the Mediator is responsible for scheduling the mediation and preparing all of the necessary paperwork for noticing the mediation and submission to the Court for signature and distribution if necessary, the Mediator is entitled to charge a minimum of one (1) hour for the time involved in performing this function.
- In the event mediation is started and then terminated on the day of mediation, a minimum charge of two (2) hours will be made for a scheduled half-day mediation, or a four (4) hour minimum charge for a scheduled full-day mediation.
- All charges for mediation are payable within thirty (30) days of receipt of the statement from the Mediator.
- All mediation charges are to be divided equally among the parties unless agreed otherwise.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If, at any time within ten (10) days of a scheduled mediation, the mediation conference is canceled for any reason, other than at the request of the Mediator, if the parties fail to appear, or if the case settles without notice to the Mediator, the Mediator may charge the parties a two (2) hour charge for half-day mediation and a four (4) hour charge for a full day mediation. If a mediation is rescheduled within this timeframe, there will be no cancellation fee, provided the mediation goes forward.
